About the Fund

«David Oistrakh Charity Foundation» – non-profit organization established in 2005. Foundation is named to the memory of the Great Russian violinist David Oistrakh.

Mission of the Foundation:

      
  • support of young and talented musicians
  • providing a performing activity for young and talented musicians
  • organizing of master classes
  • organizing of special events dedicated to David Oistrakh
  • publication of a monograph about David Oistrakh
  • preserving of memory about great musician David Oistrakh
  • popularization and development the best traditions of Russian violin performing art
  • establishment of International competition

Music competitions are very important for the developing of career of young musicians. That’s why we founded the Moscow International David Oistrakh ViolinCompetition – the cultural event which is well-known in Russia and abroad. 

The competition is developing successfully, as evidenced by the number of participating countries, which is constantly growing, as further creative life of winners: Dmitry Smirnov (Junior category, St. Petersburg) was the overall winner at the prestigious competition for young violinists «Il piccolo magico» (2006 Italy, Portogruero), Anna Savkina (Junior category, Bratsk) and Dmitry Khakhamov (Senior category, Moscow) - the permanent soloist of concert programs of the International Charity Vladimir Spivakov Foundation; Nikita Borisoglebsky (category Senior) got II prize on the International Tchaikovsky Competition
